Thom Gunn died on Sunday

I'm very fond of the poetry of Thom Gunn. I just found out he died on Sunday, aged 74, in San Francisco. His death saddens me. Richard gave me a copy of his collected poems to take to London, and often I'd sit in the open window and look out on Trelawn Road and pretend I was in a Gunn poem--the slow English cadence of his voice made me feel like I had all the time in the world to sit and introspect...
