Well folks, I'm starting my weekend a wee bit early, and jetting off to Chicago later this afternoon until late Sunday. I'll try to post a bit while I'm crashing in Logan Square.

I'll be staying with Mike and Camille, two of my most favorite people in the world. They're a supa power couple, but funny enough, they're both unemployed at this exact minute (tho pulling in fantastic amounts of settlement money and unemployment), eatin' tamales, dressin all sexy and shit in Express for Men clothes, shoppin' at Ikea, sleeping in, being all hipsterish but glamorously so. I love hanging out with Mike.mandcHe was my roommate when I was a student in London; we shared a dinky room and slept in single beds about a foot away from each other. Mike's a great guy; though at first I was on guard. We didn't know each other prior to sharing a room, so at first he was like, "dude this is going to be awesome! We should get a bunch of pornos for our room! And get drunk and pick up British girls!" He really said that! I mellowed him out and made him a sensitive man just in time for Camille, who joined us second semester. I knew Camille from a road trip I took with some of her friends up to Winnipeg; we spent an anxious hour at the border on the way back as border guards busted dumber elements of our caravan for possession. I knew they'd hit it off, and told Mike just before introducing him to Camille: you are going to fall in love with her. And he did!

So what's on store? Well, I keep telling Mike I'm going to rub coke on his anus and take him to Roscoe's, but we'll probably just get drunk in dives and perhaps hit up a gay bar to satisfy Mike's rather curious obsession with the gays. We'll have breakfasts at Johnny's Cafe, drinks among the rough Polish up the street, perhaps take in a Cubs game (Whitesox ain't playing, I've been informed). Oh, and Mike's taking me on a tour of the best hotdog stands in Chicago. He knows them all. And if we're feeling depressed, we might go to the Rainbo Club in Wicker Park and laff at the hipsters. And maybe an art gallery.

What's that, Judy?...

No, sheesshy! Life is peachy!
Chicago! Chicaaah-ago!
I'll show you around, I love it
Bet your bottom dollar
You'll lose the blues
In Chicago, Chicago
